Bob Weiss started in the vitamin industry in 1975, opening his first retail store, "Here's to Your Health", in Newhall, California in 1977. In time, he was operating four stores and a nationwide mail-order business.

Health product wholesalers know him as a savvy business person who, despite frequent threats of being run out of business by larger chain stores, was able to continue the growth and expansion of his business. Bob knew how to negotiate the best prices and pass those savings onto his customers and he kept his finger on the pulse of the industry so that his stores were stocked full with the basics as well as the cutting-edge products. In order to provide the best supplements, Bob formed his own line of products that earned national recognition.

But Bob's business ability took second seat to his customers, who constantly benefited from his passion for helping people improve their health through nutritional supplements. He was known by his customers to possess a keen ability to "read" people, both those he knew and strangers entering the store for the first time. Whether by looking into their eyes, or touching their hands during a greeting, Bob could see their nutritional needs. Those he helped returned the favor by sharing their stories of how their health and their lives were changed by his counsel. Many asked him to tell them how he knew so much about them through just a glance.

Over the years, he began to recognize that his ability was unique, but that it could be taught. Armed with that knowledge, he recorded his experiences with a vision to help retail store owners, nutritional consultants, and individuals learn the techniques for understanding how to interpret the body's signs.

This book has been a 30-year project for Bob, starting with the first success story shared by a customer and, eventually, ending up on paper after his retirement in 2005.
